I saw. Not like you could stop literally everyone from coming after me. I should've known it'd be Hanako to try, it was foolish of me to think he wouldn't.
[ a little bitter at that--and a little disappointed with himself ]
He apparently didn't even know it was you that time, and still doesn't, unless someone's told him since Sunday. He just... y'know. Has that weird grudge against you for totally unrelated reasons, I guess.
[ sighs and pushes his hair back, exuding Tired. ]
So I'm sorry on that front too, as his teammate. I love the kid, but... woof.
Nope... he had the same fear as you — that Nimona was gonna kill him and hate him forever if he told her, so to convince him she wouldn't, I told him how it'd gone when Reigen's killer eventually confessed to her. He asked me who it was and I didn't say. Didn't feel like telling him he'd already gotten his revenge would actually help things that much.
[ there's a pang of pain there because he really doesn't believe that she doesn't hate him. and he can't tell if that means that she didn't forgive hanako either, or if she did forgive him and it's just Danny who doesn't get to have that. ]
[ temenos is standing at a respectable emotional distance TM because he's a giant baby. hello, ficuses, you look pretty and not knowing he has feelings today.
anyway. he sighs a little, shaking his head... ]
I convinced him away from you the week before very purposefully, but in the end, it wasn't nearly enough. We do owe you an apology - Datz is right.
All the same; welcome back to the land of the living. And, ah. Not peg-legged.
The week before? He told me he wouldn't kill me the week before out of respect for Nimona. I wouldn't have put any stock in it, but I know that he at least cares about her.
I should've known better than to trust anything out of that little brat's mouth.
Yes - I led him down a false theory over who killed Reigen when he was leaning towards you. Datz is correct, that he never figured that out, but it didn't matter in the end.
[ hanako!! your MURDER HANDS ]
Alas. For as much as he's angered you, do try to stay your hand in response, yes? We've not much time left here, anyhow.
There is a fine art to understanding the psyche of other people. Violence as a coercive tactic works on some. To others, it is merely a reason to beget more violence. Hanako is the latter.
[ if there's one thing temenos is really good at its understanding people's brains. you can't be an inquisitor without it. ]
Well, clearly nothing else anyone's been doing has been working. And I'm tired of letting the little hellion run free killing whoever he wants without an ounce of consequence.
You say that as if anyone's had the chance to do so.
[ the dead have been back for like five minutes danny ]
And besides: the reason you were attacked had nothing to do with the crime that you committed. Must we go through this cycle again? Are you not tired of cycles?
DF, man, I feel for you, and I told him how wrong this was and how upset I was about it, and you are absolutely justified in hating him.
But there's a lot more to him that he just isn't gonna show you. Like, yeah, he's way too knife-happy in the first place, but at least part of what he was doing was outta some really misguided sense that he was gonna help people, 'cause losing two members of our team in the first two weeks messed him up pretty bad — it did all of us. He should face some consequences, but when the consequence is execution, I was never gonna let that happen, and I'm still gonna defend that kid with my life.
[ there are like, entirely too many emotions here — guilt and frustration and protectiveness and just really loving this damn kid in spite of everything ]

...right.
When did he tell her?

Sunday night. So the day after the trial.
Would've been a lot uglier if he'd waited, I think.

I'm just gonna strike some fear in him. It's about time someone stopped going easy on him just because he looks like a cute kid.
