Yeah. Though sometimes they're the ones doing the manipulating. The case that was going on during those memories... in the end, it turned out that the victim purposely made his death look like a murder when they viewed it through his eyes in court, even though it was actually a suicide.

The royal priestess does the Divination Séance to show what the victim experienced in their last moments. Which is really useful, but the interpretation isn't always that straightforward. Plus both the killers and victims can sometimes manipulate what's being experienced in those moments to paint the picture they want the court to see.
