It feels weird going after anyone too hard when you know they're doing what they have to. Like, we still wanna know the truth, but sometimes the truth just doesn't feel great.

...You had some people who were gonna be willing to sacrifice themselves even before we learned about that, so now that they've got that piece of info, there's just less to keep 'em from doing it.

But yeah, it's still gonna be hard on everyone who cares about 'em in the meantime. And I don't love seeing people acting more reckless just 'cause the risk doesn't seem as bad anymore.

There's no guarantee they'll return. Living people always take their lives for granted... They're so stupid. What could be more important than your own life?

I mean— other people's lives is the answer, in most cases. Yeah, it hurts everyone who's left behind when someone sacrifices themselves, and it isn't always fair. But look at it from the other side — maybe the way they see it, people they care about are gonna die if they don't do something. And then if they don't, they end up in a similar position, where they're left behind and hurting and blaming themselves.
They're still so stupid. You can't do anything if you're dead. If you want to save someone, you have to keep on living... find a way for everybody to live. Deciding that you're going to die so somebody else doesn't have to is the same as giving up.
