I didn't know it going in, but by the end of the trial last week, I was pretty sure Taky was the one responsible for Foxy's death, and we had some strong evidence that Hans wasn't involved in anything.
I kept quiet about that and voted for Hans anyway, 'cause if I didn't, I knew Taky was gonna be the one on the chopping block. I'd seen how much he cared about his team and all the kids here, and how he was ready to put himself at risk for their sakes — he did most of the planning when we tried to bust M&M out of jail way back when. I trusted that if he'd killed someone, there was a good reason for it, and I trusted that he'd keep workin' hard to help everyone if he got another chance. I didn't have that same trust in Hans, even if he was innocent in this case, so I let him take the fall instead.
Felt like a hypocritical piece of crap, but that was the choice I made. It wasn't a fair one, so both Hans and Adlet would've had every right to hate me.
[ Taky... Taky...? Reigen? There's no way. Hanako mouths the words silently, only half listening to Datz. There's absolutely no way. With Yae Miko's death? No way. ]
[ ...ah. somehow he kind of thought hanako would have already suspected this. maybe he should have left this to reigen to tell him himself.

She was the one who tried to kill him that night. Used that book to try to make him shoot himself. He did that whole crazy thing with the kennel because he didn't wanna kill her — he thought if he could just lock her somewhere until morning, then no one would have to die at all. But she got out and went after him again even madder than before, so... he ended up stabbing her so he wouldn't be the one to die.
[ NO HE DID NOT KNOW but the explanation, if anything, calms him down. like yeah, that makes sense. Hanako had exchanged a total of 0 words with Yae Miko but did not trust her solely on the account of what she is. Her being out to kill makes perfect sense, he doesn't question that at all. ]
I didn't know... I hope he's okay.
[ a self defense kill... and he couldn't say anything about it, because people will point fingers and assign him blame regardless. that must be eating him up inside something awful. ]
[ it sucks so much because neither reigen or hans deserved to die for that but this city's justice system is a bad joke.
he gives his hand a squeeze. ]
It's been a pretty tough and complicated situation, yeah, but he's got some support, and he's been gettin' through it. He's blaming himself really bad for what happened to Whisper, though. It's not his fault, but I'd feel the same way in his shoes.

[ How would that be justified?! He's going to almost tear his IV out turning to face Datz so quickly ]

[ He gets that too. Even if she wasn't killed by his own hand, she still died because of him. It's such a shitty situation. ]
Let's cheer him up together next week. I'll think of something.

...Yeah, that sounds nice. Let's do it.
